A Little Help from my Friends

Ok. Here we go.

I have organized Surawordz.com to facilitate my small bout of O.C.D. which than lets me go back to chaotic good behaviors (mostly).

As you have noticed, I have across the top a few tabs to take a reader of to different links. I hope the subheading is clear enough.

Wordz has always been my blog where I post my poems. Many of my students have received copies/collections of my poems as graduation gifts. Even though I may be blocking future sales of the two books of poems I have self-published, I have enjoyed writing and sharing. It is a thrill and a motivator when a former student tells me that he/she still has the booklet with them. I am honored and humbled.

Simple Man will be my life stuff blog on all the random things that hit me during the day or wake me up at the middle of the night. I want to just share thoughts, humor, and inspiration. These posts, for good or bad, will be from my perspective.

For teachers, social workers, coaches, mentors, and anyone who works with kids in whatever setting, I have created Standing on the Desk. It is a new place for me to post things, and it will cooperate and share my Facebook page, A Teacher's Desktop. As many of you might have deduced, the title is a reference to Dead Poets Society. But I also connect it to Here Comes the Boom (2012) and Teachers (1984).

For a long time on Facebook, I have had a group called Barbaric Yawp. I just like to put stuff about Fine Arts, songs, and musicals there. So we will see where that goes.

And I cannot forget about my love of Science Fiction and Fantasy, thus Geek O.G., a title Heidi helped with formulating. It had to encompass my science fiction and fantasy class, current movies and books, and the old stuff I grew up on which has earned titles like "original", "classic", or "What do you mean stop motion photography?"

Purpose of all this? First, to write. Writing gets me writing more. It is something I like to do and share. Second, to have people to enjoy my writing. Third, according to articles, videos, blogs, and other sources, some people make a little money doing this. I would not mind doing that, yet, as mentioned above with the booklets of Wordz, not a priority. It would be nice to help supplement the golden years and leave twenty or so bucks for my kids way, way in the future.

The Little Help
Just read. You reading and enjoying whether here or on Facebook is cool enough. I will post links (in corresponding Facebook and Twitter groups) that you can choose to read or not. Or, from what I understand, on the actual blogs, you can subscribe or follow by email. I will have on every blog a gadget that will let you do so.

That's it, just read my stuff.

That's really all I am looking for are readers, fans, and a few thumbs up. Traffic.

Yes, I will self publish more. So, you can read the old fashion way from books if you so choose. I am doing more with eBooks; one so far. I am looking into audio-books too. I have read I can record my own books. It sounds (pun intended) like a new adventure.
